Carrefour and Glovo, an online delivery service app, have announced plans to officially join forces in Poland.
Using the service, consumers will be able to order products from one of Carrefour Express’s 58 stores in Poland, and have them delivered to their doors by Glovo couriers in less than an hour.
The service is focused on ensuring that high hygiene levels are maintained throughout the delivery process and that all necessary precautions are taken, including additional disinfection of bags and avoiding contact with bag handles, in accordance with the guidelines of the World Health Organization.
Glovo also offers a 'non-contact' delivery option.
Omni-Channel Strategy
Commenting on the initiative, Michał Sacha, director of marketing, digital, IT, e-commerce and financial services at Carrefour Poland said, “Thanks to cooperation with Glovo, we are expanding the possibility of availing of the Carrefour offer without leaving home. This marks the next stage of implementing our omni-channel strategy.”
Elsewhere, Maria Raszdorf, marketing manager at Glovo, added, "We are glad that we have started official cooperation with Carrefour in Poland. [...] Our goal has always been for users to be able to shop faster, smoother and more conveniently than ever before. Especially now, when we need it even more."
For the duration of the one-month promotional period, the cost of deliveries will be PLN 6.99 (€1.54) for existing customers, and free of charge for new customers.
