Carrefour Italia has announced a partnership with JoinTag, a provider of proximity marketing services, reports Distribuzione Moderna.
The retailer will implement JoinTag's platform Kariboo in more than 200 Carrefour Market outlets and 40 hypermarkets, which will interact with shoppers, the company said.
Due to a series of localisation tools and beacons, Kariboo sends targeted push notifications to customers in the store.
It can also be used to track customers as they make their way around a particular store, providing additional data to Carrefour.
According to Pierre Queau, who heads up marketing and digital transformation at Carrefour Italia, the company is always looking for "new, innovative ways to improve the customer experience" and this partnership will help it achieve this.
