Carrefour Romania has announced that it is testing a new biometric payment system in the Skanska supermarket in Bucharest.
The payment system was installed at the outlet’s conventional and self-service checkout counters in February of this year.
The project is a part of the retailer's digital transformation goals.
Strategic Partnership
Carrefour Romania has also strengthened its strategic partnership with Google to explore new avenues for developing its e-commerce services.
It has launched a programme – Carrefour Techdays – to train around 300 employees to offer better online services.
The retailer has also redesigned its digital portal – Carrefour.ro – in association with Tremend Software Consulting.
