French online retailer Cdiscount recorded more than four million visits on its website on 28 June, which the company says is a record for the first day of its summer sale.
The retailer reports that 200 televisions priced at €499.99 were sold within the first four hours, 500 washing machines at €99.99 were sold in 40 minutes, and 500 suitcases at €9.99 sold in 30 minutes.

During the sales, which will continue until 8 August, the website will offer discounts of up to 95% on appliances, homewares, technology, and wine.
Over three million products are available to be delivered to customers within 24 hours, and Cdiscount expects that two million parcels will sent across France in the six weeks of sales.
