Continente has become the first food retail company in Portugal to allow customers to visit 25 of its stores via smartphone or PC, using Google Street View.
This Google feature, which allows users to walk the streets and enter buildings through 360° photos, now includes selected Continente supermarkets and hypermarkets, following an agreement between the two parties.
Continente says that it intends to pave the way for the future, with the goal of allowing customers to make their purchases from home, but using the physical stores as a reference.
The retailer adds that the use of Street View reflects its commitment to taking advantage of new technologies to facilitate and improve the day-to-day life of Portuguese consumers, and making shopping experience easier.
It joins Continente's online shopping service and the different digital applications that the brand already offers, including the Continente app, Continente Card app, Listas Continente app, Tira-vez app, Yammi app, as well as websites, such as Frescos Continente, Chef Continente, Universo Bebé, Beleza Continente, and Pet Continente.
The following Continente stores are available on Google Street View: Fatima, Coimbra, Cruz de Pau, Canidelo, Carlos Mardel, Charneca da Caparica, Faro, Seia, Póvoa de Lanhoso, Campo Maior, Entroncamento, Avenida da Boavista, Serpa Pinto, Vieira de Leira, Braga, Quinta das Portas, Ponte da Barca, Arruda dos Vinhos, Restelo, Albergaria, Parede II, Ericeira, Avanca, Via Rápida, and Castro Daire.
