Continente has announced that it has teamed up with Glovo, a provider of home delivery services, to offer a 30-minute delivery of e-commerce orders in the Lisbon area.
The agreement follows a tie-up between the Sonae-owned chain in Porto with SendEat.
The partnership between Continente and Glovo has been piloted since the start of December, and it currently covers the areas of Serafina, Campo Grande, Alvalade, Areeiro, Alfama, Cais do Sodré, and Santos.
Continente hopes to roll the service out to additional districts in the new year.
Glovo Marketplace
To avail of the fast delivery, Continente shoppers need to order the products through the Glovo Marketplace website, or via the Glovo app.
'In this way, Continente is reiterating its commitment to meeting the needs of all customers, following their habits and launching the most innovative trends in food retail in Portugal,' Continente noted in a statement.
In Porto, Continente shoppers using SendEat can avail of delivery in 40 minutes or less.
