Denmark's Salling Group has announced the launch of Netto +, a new shopping app for its discount retail chain Netto.
The app is equipped with an 'intelligent shopping list' and a price scanner, and saves all receipts automatically.
The app will give shoppers access to personalised offers tailored to meet individual shopping preferences.
'Good Offers'
Martin Hasgard Olesen, assortment and marketing director at Netto, said, “We have good offers on a lot of products. But we also know that not all offers are equally obvious. If you do not have a cat, you quickly flip past cat food offers.“
In the future, the retailer plans to add a direct payment feature through the app to enable shoppers to scan their goods and pay with a single swipe and leave the store without queuing at the checkout.
The app also boasts of a ‘freshness guarantee’ feature, which allows customers to claim refunds for products that do not live up to expectations.
Focus On Freshness
“Even though we do what we can to sell only the freshest items in Netto, at some point [customers] come home from the supermarket with an item that was not quite as expected. That is why we are now making it easier than ever before to get your money back," Hasgard Olesen added.
The feature allows customers to take a picture of the product and share a short description of their grievance.
The money is then refunded to the shopper as a digital voucher, which can be redeemed on a subsequent purchase from Netto, the retailer added.
