German discounters Aldi Süd and Nord have announced plans to offer over one million eBooks for sale within their multimedia platform, 'Aldi Life'.
The assortment will involve all time classics and new bestsellers as well as some 30,000 children's books. There will also be books in the English language.
Customers can purchase books - and also obtain free books - with the 'Aldi Life' app. Vouchers and coupons also can be bought in-store. The books will then be readable in another app, 'Aldi life eBooks'. Most of the books that were not purchased over the Aldi Life app can be synchronized with the app.
The retailer will commence sales from 20 October. E-tablets with an eBook-reader function will also be available.
