Finnish convenience chain R-kioski and delivery service DHL Express have teamed up to provide quick and convenient international delivery of its products.
About 300 outlets throughout Finland will become DHL Express service points, as part of the agreement.
During the first phase of the initiative, R-kioski customers will be able to pick up packages at their preferred service point. They will be notified by DHL via SMS when a package is ready, and they can then route their package to one of the service outlets.
In the autumn, customers will also be able to send prepaid packages.

"We want to offer our customers the most complete and varied range of services in the country. The international online store is growing and packages are moving through R-kioski to an increasing extent. DHL's packages can in future be picked up at R-kioski from the extensive kiosk network flexibly, when it suits the customer best," said R-Kioski CEO Teemu Rissanen.
"Our goal is to make matters with us as easy and effortless as possible. Cooperation with R-kioski expands and diversifies our service options, especially for private customers, the number of which is growing in our customer base," commented Peter Ervasalo, CEO of DHL Express Finland, on the tie-up.
R-kioski is part of Reitan Convenience, a member of the Reitan Group, and has a network of roughly 560 stores in the country. It offers convenience foods and services. Reitan Convenience also has chains in Norway, Latvia, Sweden, Denmark, Estonia, and Lithuania.
In 2017, the retailer’s turnover was €1.63 billion, and its stores totalled 2,300.
