Groupe Casino’s grocery store banner Franprix has begun accepting transactions through French mobile payment app Lydia, reports LSA.
The new checkout option for Franprix customers has been in place for a few weeks, and is particularly popular among shoppers aged between 18 and 30.
Payment Process
At the checkout the customer can enter their shopping bill figure into the Lydia mobile app, which generates a QR code. This is then scanned by the cashier to complete the payment process.
At present, almost 400 Franprix stores have been equipped to accept payments in this way. It is reported that the retailer is considering extending this mobile channel to include deliveries as well.
