New data has revealed that France's e-commerce sector grew during 2015’s third quarter by 15 per cent, generating a turnover of €15.5 billion, lsa-conso.fr reports.
The report by France’s Fédération e-commerce et vente à distance (La Fevad) said, "These good results are in sync with an overall positive trajectory [for French e-commerce]. Households consumed an additional 0.9 per cent of FMCGs during the quarter, and the sales figures mean the overall estimates for 2015 will most likely be exceeded."
The number of online transactions during the three months was up by 20 per cent relative to the same period of 2014. La Fevad’s research shows that on average French consumers are making more online purchases, but spending less per transaction than they did a year ago.
Furthermore, the body has increased its global estimate for e-commerce’s Q3 turnover from €62.4 billion to €65 billion.
