Swedish supermarket group ICA has revealed it is carrying out a strategic review of its ownership in eCommerce business inkClub.
One of Sweden’s oldest eCommerce firms, InkClub now has approximately four million customers in ten countries.
The eCommerce company reported sales of around SEK500m for 2015.
InkClub was purchased by the supermarket group nine years ago.
Commenting on the news, Liv Forhaug, chief strategy officer for ICA Group, said, "InkClub has undergone a strategic change in recent years, with a broadened offering and greater focus on B2B. InkClub is profitable and is experiencing positive development, but going forward we see limited synergies with our core business."
The group is "looking into strategic alternatives" to its ownership in inkClub, Forhaug said.
With over 1,300 stores and a market share of around 36 per cent, ICA Sweden is a key grocery retailer in the country.
The supermarket group will hold its next annual general meeting on April 20.
