Online retailer The Italian Community has teamed up with Amazon to make 6,000 Italian products available to UK shoppers, reports Il Sole 24 Ore.
The store primarily targets the estimated 500,000 Italians who work and study in the UK, and are looking for authentic products from home, including food, drinks, clothing, and books.
The Italian Community is an independent organisation that also manages an online directory service for Italians living abroad, and provides quick access to a list of Italian professionals, companies, events, bars and restaurants in the UK.
Online Store
The Italian Community Shop has an 'expat picks' section, dedicated to the most popular products sought after by Italians abroad.
Besides well-known brands, the online store intends to be a showcase not only for goods made in Italy, but also for products made by Italians in the UK, providing a platform for small and medium-sized Italian companies that offer high quality items.
"Our mission is to help Italian businesses become internationally competitive by organising a business marketplace dedicated to over 5 million Italians abroad," Alessia Affinita, founder of The Italian Community, told Il Sole 24 Ore.
