Italian hypermarket chain Bennet has deployed Oracle Retail Planning and Optimisation solutions to increase efficiencies across its network.
Based in Northern Italy, Bennet operates 63 hypermarkets, focusing on price, service, and selection.
Using the new system, Bennet says that it is now able to react in real-time to market changes, including competitor pricing, seasonality and trends.
Price Evolution
Following the deployment of the Oracle solution, the Italian hypermarket chain says that it has dramatically cut the time it takes to adapt its prices, from days to hours.
The first phase of the project was rolled out in July 2015, introducing rule-based pricing capabilities, including price proposal and competitor price comparison.
Bennet is now extending the use of the Oracle platform with optimisation algorithms support. Using the Oracle platform, the retailer will now be able to predict the impact of pricing to both individual items and to categories of products, enabling it to balance and execute price effectiveness against competitors.
During the next phase, Bennet will incorporate more sophisticated KPIs to simplify and drive pricing decisions.
