Mercadona has introduced a new range of meatless charcuterie products.
As reported by CCAA.ElPais.com, the products are made with free-range chicken egg whites and olive and sunflower oil, which have ten times less cholesterol.
This new line is manufactured by Noel Alimentaria, a specialised producer, and it is called Veggie.
The range features three products: two types of mortadella (rolled and sliced) and sliced chóped, or luncheon meat.
The products are free from gluten and lactose and have no artificial colouring.
They are marketed for athletes, consumers trying to reduce their meat consumption, vegetarians and flexitarians.
