Microsoft To Help Eataly Better Manage International Growth

Italian food & wine brand Eataly has announced that it plans to use Microsoft's cloud computing to support its international growth.

The rapid transformation of the company from a local business to an international operation, (39 stores worldwide with 5,000 employees) has motivated Eataly to optimise processes by adopting Microsoft Dynamics 365, a cloud platform that integrates multiple applications to respond in a personalised way to business needs, the Adn Kronos news agency reports.

As a result, Eataly intends to develop a new model of remote interaction for its online shopping service Eataly Today. Through the use of chat bots, customers will be able to interact online with the store staff.

Stock Exchange

Elsewhere, Eataly’s operational president, Andrea Guerra, has confirmed that the company will quote on the stock exchange between 2018 and 2019, most likely in Italy, reports La Repubblica.

He added that the company will end 2017 with a turnover of €470-480 million and an EBITDA of €20-25 million, although the long-term ambition is to reach €1.5 billion in turnover.
