Customers of Swiss retailer Migros are now able to pay via smartphone in all of its stores, the company has reported on its website.
The service, launched on 20 August, requires customers to install the Migros App on their smartphone in addition to depositing an account with Migros bank or a Cumulus credit card.
Payment is effected through a QR code. The user simply opens the app at the till, retrieves the code, and hands it over to the cashier to scan.
“The service offers all customers the possibility to pay in an uncomplicated manner,” Migros chief executive Herbert Bollinger, said in a statement. “Migros continues to proves its role as a pioneer in the Swiss retail trade."
