A new online supermarket 360hyper has launched in Portugal that is offering deliveries between three hours and three days in the Greater Lisbon area.
The online store offers more than 5,000 grocery, fresh produce, frozen, personal and home care, drinks, and childcare products, according to a report in the digital publication Dinheirovivo.
The minimum order amount for the online supermarket is €50 with an additional delivery charge of €4.99.
According to the executive president of the company, Sérgio Vieira, the business aims to offer customers the opportunity to shop in the morning from the comfort and safety of their homes and receive their purchases before lunch.
Expansion Plans
The company plans to add new stores to its platform to increase the available supply and also introduce other items such as fresh fish from the market and pre-cooked food sourced through partnerships with other companies.
It also aims to offer delivery service across Portugal, except the islands.
360hyper.pt has launched at a time when movement is restricted to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
Other supermarket chains in Portugal such as Auchan, Continente, El Corte Inglés, and Pingo Doce are facing delivery delays of up to two weeks, as demand for online groceries increased due to the pandemic.
