Four innovative projects have been nominated for the 21st Swiss Logistics Award, presented by GS1 Switzerland.
The nominated projects include an environmental-friendly waste disposal system, a public health logistic system, a sorter-retrofit and a low-priced warehouse-management project.
System-Alpenluft AG presented a waste disposal system, which presses trash directly inside the container in order to fit more inside it before it gets emptied. Thereby, the frequency of drives to an emptying facility is lowered.
SwissMedLogic AG developed a tool to optimize costs, quality and efficiency in the public health sector. The client can buy products online and monitor where they are, as well as check the surrounding temperature. All data is combined on one device and transmitted by internet connection.
Siemens Postal, Parcel & Airport Logistics AG renewed a 20 year old sort-machine within 52 hours. Animation, simulation and emulation allows the team to get into the building virtually and to check the functionality of machines.
rocklog GmbH and Dumet AG offered a cloud based logistic system, which is available on every smartphone and PC. The system called 'PLANET-ROCKLOG' provides uncomplicated and easy processes for warehousing, CMR and goods-tracking.
The winner of 2016's Swiss Logistics Award will be decided by a jury in the coming weeks, with the winning company having the chance to take part in the European Logistics Award.
