British online supermarket Ocado Group has announced that it has completed the acquisition of robotics solutions company Kindred Systems Inc.
Kindred Systems, founded in 2014, is based in San Francisco and Toronto. It designs, supplies and services sophisticated piece-picking robots for e-commerce and order fulfilment.
Ocado will retain all 90 employees of Kindred Systems, with engineers joining the Ocado technology team and the rest will continue to drive the company's growth.

Commenting on the deal, CEO of Ocado, Tim Steiner, said, "I am delighted to announce the completion of the acquisition of Kindred Systems and to formally welcome the team to Ocado.
"We look forward to working together to accelerate the development of robotic picking solutions, improving their speed, accuracy, product range and economics, which will benefit our Ocado Solutions partners as well as Kindred Systems' existing customers."
In November of this year, Ocado announced plans to acquire Kindred Systems Inc for $262 million.
