After Coop Lombardia, Italian retailer Maxi Di has selected Swedish company Pricer to introduce electronic labels in its stores, according to a press release.
The Verona-based grocery retailer has entered into a partnership with IBC for the installation of 250,000 Pricer electronic labels.
The Maxi Di group has chosen the retail technology expert's latest generation of SmartTAG electronic labels with HD+ e-paper display for its Famila and Galassia store banners.
A Safe Option
Pricer’s innovative Electronic Shelf Label (ESL) solutions are based on a patented system called Optical@Pricer.
The technology uses natural light for communication with labels avoiding the risk of interference from wifi or radio waves.
The labels are on 'always-on' mode and 'Pricer Black Safe Screen' technology ensures that labels always display the correct price.
The graphically configurable smart labels are readable from any point on the store shelf and are monitored to prevent tampering.
Maxi Di has over 675 points of sale in the Northern Italian regions of Veneto, Lombardy, Emilia Romagna, Piedmont and Valle d’Aosta.
The company is a part of the Selex group, Italy’s third largest distribution company, with more than 2,500 stores nationwide.
