Denmark’s Salling Group has named Kenneth Holm Nørgaard as the new head of its e-commerce and digital wing.
He will be responsible for accelerating the development of the division by improvising the product assortment and online customer experience.
'An Experienced Professional'
Nørgaard is an experienced professional, who worked with the Danish online fashion retailer Bestseller for nine years.
Most recently, he was responsible for heading VILA e-commerce.
Marianne Bedsted, director of Salling Group in Denmark, welcomed Nørgaard to the company and added, “Kenneth comes with a strong background in retail, fashion and e-commerce from Bestseller, before that as a Business Analyst at Vestas and he is the right person to fulfill the ambitions we have for salling.dk.
“We have experienced great growth in the last few years. That is why we are now developing and investing in our online offerings and strengthening the digital strategy.
Expansion Plans
The company will also initiate a recruitment process to hire a team for salling.dk.
The new team under the leadership of Nørgaard will further develop on Salling's current platform and ensure that customers experience the same good service and the wide range of products that they can access in its department stores.
Nørgaard commented, “We have great ambitions for salling.dk, and it will be a pleasure to develop the best possible experience for everyone who visits us online.
“In the Salling department stores, the experience and the great focus on the customers is the most important thing, and we must at least match that level on salling.dk.”
The company's online channel witnesses a growth in sales as customers flocked to its website following the closure of its physical stores in Aarhus and Aalborg during the COVID-19 pandemic, the company added.
