Schwarz Group, the parent company of Lidl and Kaufland, has invested in a new artificial intelligence platform alongside the Deutsche Forschungszentrum für Künstliche Intelligenz (DFKI, German Research Centre for Artificial Intelligence).
As part of the agreement, which was announced on Tuesday, Schwarz Group has bought shares in DFKI.
Schwarz Group said that it believes the collaboration will improve its stationary trading operations.
Over the past few years, Schwarz Group and DFKI have partnered on several projects, including robotics and language assistance systems.
