Portuguese retail group Sonae MC and local start-up Follow Inspiration have developed a stand-alone shopping cart for persons with mobility problems.
The wiiGO solution facilitates the purchasing process for customers with reduced mobility, including people in wheelchairs, pregnant women and the elderly.
Between now and September 23, visitors to the Continente hypermarket in the GaiaShopping Mall will be able to test the novelty shopping cart. The wiiGO is easy to use, following the user in the store and helping to transport purchases, while dodging obstacles.
According to Luís de Matos, CEO of Follow Inspiration, the technology will contribute decisively to increased mobility in retail spaces.
