Spanish co-operative Eroski has announced that it will extend its Click & Drive service to the northern province of Álava.
The free Click & Drive service offers shoppers the option to shop online at home and then pick up their purchases four hours later, without having to leave their car, at the quick-entry point installed at the parking lot at the hypermarket.
Staff load the purchases directly into the boot of the vehicle within five minutes, the retailer said.
Click & Drive services are currently available in the Basque country, Navarra, Galicia, and in Catalonia under the name Caprabo.
More than 60% of Eroski Club loyalty scheme members have a collection point less than 15 minutes away from their residence, the company said.
Collection Convenience
In the Basque country, Eroski has eight hypermarkets with the Click & Drive service (including Álava), with five in Biscay and two in Guipúzcoa.
In addition, ten urban supermarkets offer the Click & Collect service - three in Álava, five in Biscay, and two in Guipúzcoa. With this service, customers can pick up purchases within two hours of ordering, pre-bagged and ready to go.
"Consumers value above all the possibility to make purchases online and pick them up the same day for free. More than 80% of our online purchases include fresh products, a very impressive number that shows the confidence our customers place in the Eroski brand for fresh foods," explained online business director Mari Mar Escrig.
