Spar Netherlands has launched a same-day delivery service for online orders.
The service offers same-day delivery to customers who order their groceries online before 10 a.m. The delivery will be made after 4 p.m. that day. Orders over €50 remain free of any delivery charge.
Customers can order regular groceries, as well as Spar's dry-cleaning service and its Eet Smakelijk! meal service when ordering online. Customers have the choice of getting their groceries delivered or picking them up in store.
Spar's online service, which was recently expanded, now accounts for 1.5 per cent of total revenue. Spar Netherlands intends to have all of its stores operating an online service by year end.
