Ukranian retailer Silpo has launched a Scan & Go payment system in its stores, for customers that are members of its Vlasnyi Rakhunok loyalty programme.
The Vilnokasa system enables shoppers to scan products directly via a mobile application as they make their way around the store, and then use their digital wallet to pay for said items.
The service is available in 59 Silpo supermarkets, where self-checkout machines are currently installed.
Speedy Process
"The system for scanning goods via mobile application enables Silpo guests to speed up the purchasing process and save time, [ensuring customers] avoid waiting in lines, which is essential during quarantine restrictions," commented Vitalii Vorozhbyt, head of digital transformation at Fozzy Group.
The launch of the platform marks another step in Silpo's digital transformation, the retailer said.
During lockdown, it launched a new online store, shop.silpo.ua, offering delivery and click and collect services.
