Tesco UK has announced that it has extended its same-day click and collect service for online orders, adding earlier slots for ordering and collecting.
Customers can now place orders before 9.00am and collect their shopping from 12.00pm onwards, instead of 1:00pm. The extended service will be available in more than 300 locations across the UK.
Tesco has seen a 20% rise in the use of its click and collect service over the past year, with same-day collection now accounting for nearly 10% of online retail.
Adrian Letts, online managing director at Tesco, explained, "More customers than ever are choosing to use our grocery Click and Collect service, which is why we have decided to introduce a new collection slot."
The company also offers a same-day delivery service in London and the southeast of England, in which customers can subscribe to a 'Delivery Saver' scheme and pay a set amount per month to cover all deliveries, in order to cut costs.
