France’s Auchan Retail has opened the third My Auchan supermarket in Portugal's capital city, Lisbon.
Located on Avenue Duque de Ávila, the new store, featuring the 'ultra-proximity' concept, required an investment of €1 million, reports Jornal Economico.
With a sales area of 300 square metres, the store features three distinct zones: market, snacking and high consumption products. The store also offers a home delivery service.
Convenience Format
The My Auchan outlets have an urban, neighbourhood store format, are open for extended hours, and have a size that varies between 200 and 500 square metres.
According to a company press release, the stores 'provide fluidity and comfort with the objective of offering customers a complete purchasing process in a shorter time and are differentiated by the wide offer of quality products at the lowest prices'.
Like other Auchan stores, they are equipped with free Wi-Fi and other digital services.
According to Auchan Retail’s director for ultra proximity, Rui de Carvalho, the company aims to have six My Auchan stores in Portugal by the end of the year, for a total investment of €6 million.
In Portugal's food retail segment, Auchan also operates 30 Jumbo hypermarkets and three Pão de Açúcar stores.
