Unilever has announced it has signed an agreement to acquire Blueair, leading manufacturers of indoor air-purification technologies. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Nitin Paranjpe, President of Unilever’s Home Care business said: "We are delighted to add Blueair to our Home Care portfolio. The Blueair brand and products are widely known and represent exceptional quality and design, capacity and performance. Blueair was founded on the belief that business should be a force for good in society, which belief is shared by Unilever."
Blueair founder Bengt Rittri, commented: “Blueair was launched 20 years ago with the mission to start a clean air revolution, bringing people the world’s best air purifiers. This mission remains embedded in the company values today."
Blueair was founded in 1996 in Stockholm, Sweden. An increasing demand for air purification- and filtration technologies has seen the company grow rapidly in recent years. Blueair will continue to operate under its existing brand name, in over 62 countries worldwide - including Sweden, China, US, Japan, South Korea and India.
